"Restore Urban Wetlands, Improve Water Health" by Sara Parker.
This is a new print to support the Lake Herrick Eco-Art Festival, a local project where artists were paired with researchers to promote environmental issues around our local recreational area, Lake Herrick.
I was paired with Dr. Todd Rasmussen, Professor of Hydrology at UGA. We talked about the importance of artificial wetlands in our urban lakes and retention ponds. Did you know natural wetlands have the ability to purify water? We can actually return our water to a healthy state, increase biodiversity, and make our urban dwellings more pleasant by installing artificial wetlands that serve as habitats for important wildlife.
The proceeds from this print will be donated to Watershed UGA.
Check out the event Saturday, April 6th at Lake Herrick.
